Simply put, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability practice in Africa is still emerging, and yet to attain mainstream relevance. Hence, fostering a platform for individuals, corporations and civil society groups to discuss Africa’s scorecard on CSR, Sustainability and Sustainable Development is a fundamental objective. The AR-CSR™ remains the most comprehensive management event of the year where leaders from a variety of sectors gather to share expertise and experiences on an array of management topics.

How can industry professionals engage one another on emerging trends and common objectives of fostering sustainable development in Africa? The AR-CSR™ provides an opportunity for professional networking with businesses around the continent. It is increasingly important for organizations to learn how others are leveraging CSR initiatives and programmes for today’s competitive edge. As a result, the AR-CSR™ strives to provide meeting agendas that make room for ample opportunity for networking during our receptions, meals, breaks and informative sessions and the opportunity to market brand and CSR initiatives through the Sustainable Solutions Showcase (SSS). Again, the quality of resource persons on array and participants each time are invaluable for networking and experience sharing in addition to the opportunity to talk directly with our world-class presenters and speakers in an intimate and serene atmosphere.

In the same vein, harmonizing results, their impacts and communicating to a crop of the continent’s leading minds and stakeholders in order to enhance organisational strategy and also glean additional perspectives to pursue strategic objectives; is an aspect of the AR-CSR™ that has been designed for clear-cut leverage.

We continue to encourage organizations to bring their ideas and projects to the discourse and gather invaluable feedback from peers in other leading CSR Programs. Consequently, the underlying objective of the AR-CSR™ is to drive the Sustainable Development Agenda of organisations, economies and the African Continent – in that order.

This informs the need to ensure that this initiative is not just a talk shop.

The conveners and interested partner organisations intend to assess the impact, reporting influences and awareness of sustainable interventions across the continent. The need to understand how corporate initiatives affect the organization’s bottom-line is always clearly emphasized at the AR-CSR™ which underscores the need to decipher and document how investments count toward fulfilling long-term commitments to stakeholders.
